RekoBase CSV
Build it your way, record it fast — "RekoBase CSV"
About the App
RekoBase CSV is a data collection app that lets you fully customize your own recording fields. It supports free-text input, list selection, automatic timestamp logging, and even barcode scanning with your camera. Collected data can be exported as a CSV file, making it easy to manage in Excel or spreadsheet tools.
Build Your Own Recording Format
Combine the field types you need — text, fixed text, list selection, barcode, and timestamp — to quickly create your own custom input screen.
Built-in Barcode Reader
Use your phone's camera to quickly scan product barcodes. Dramatically speeds up inventory checks and stocktaking.
Fully Customizable File Names
Export your recorded data as a CSV file whenever you like. You can also set a custom file naming rule (including date and time), making it easy to import into a computer or share with others.
Dark Mode & Multi-language Support
Switch between a dark theme (easier on the eyes) and a light theme. The app also supports both Japanese and English display.
How to Use RekoBase CSV
Create a Recording Format
- Open "Settings" from the top screen.
- In "Column Settings", tap the "+" button, select the newly added column, and enter the field name you want to record (e.g. "Product Name", "Quantity", "Scan").
- Choose an input type for each field.
- You can reorder or rearrange the fields as needed.
- In "File Settings", you can set the CSV export file name and whether to include a header row.
[Available Input Types]
- Text (free-form text or numbers you type in)
- List (choose from preset options, comma-separated. e.g. "Start,Pause,Resume,End" or "OK,NG")
- Barcode (launches the camera to scan a barcode)
- Timestamp (automatically records the date/time. Formats like "yyyyMMdd_HHmmss" or "yyyyMMdd_hh:mm:ss" are supported. Note: HH is 24-hour format, hh is 12-hour format)
- Fixed Text (always records the same fixed text)
[File Name Settings]
You can set formats such as "yyyyMMdd_HHmmss" or "user_yyyyMMdd_hh:mm:ss".
Bulk Import Settings via CSV
Instead of creating fields one by one, you can also bulk-load column settings from a prepared CSV file. This is convenient when you want to set up many fields at once, or copy your settings to another device.
- Tap the "Import CSV" button on the Settings screen.
- A confirmation dialog will appear — review it and tap "OK".
- Select a CSV file on your device to run the import.
[CSV File Format]
- Line 1 (optional):
FileName, template— sets the output file name template. - Line 2 (optional): a header row
Name,Type,Content. It's detected automatically whether present or not. - Line 3 onward:
Name,Type,Content— one field per line. - Up to 15 fields are supported, and only one field can be set as Timestamp.
[Values Accepted in the Type Column]
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Text (or 0) | Free-form text you type in |
| Fixed (or 1) | Fixed text that's always recorded the same way |
| Barcode (or 2) | A field that scans a barcode with the camera |
| List (or 3) | A field you choose from options (comma-separated options in the Content column) |
| Timestamp (or 4) | Automatically records the date/time (date format in the Content column) |
If a value contains a comma (,), wrap it in double quotes ("").
Overwriting Only Specific Fields (Partial Update Mode)
A normal CSV import deletes all existing fields and replaces them with the CSV content. If you only want to change specific fields, add a 4th column with TRUE/FALSE.
- The order of the rows in the CSV corresponds to the order of your fields in the app (1st, 2nd, 3rd, ...).
- Only rows marked
TRUEoverwrite the field at that position.FALSErows are ignored, but the row itself still needs to be present so positions don't shift. - Even if the name in the row doesn't match the existing field's name, it still overwrites whatever is at that position (matching is by position, not by name).
In the example above, only row 2 is TRUE, so only the 2nd existing field (e.g. "Assignee") is overwritten with "Assignee". The 1st and 3rd fields stay unchanged.
Not confident writing CSV by hand? Use the CSV Builder to generate one from a simple form (partial update mode is supported too).
Record Data
- Tap the "Start Recording" button on the home screen.
- The input screens appear in order, following the fields you set up in Column Settings. (Timestamp and Fixed Text fields are skipped automatically.)
- For barcode fields, the camera launches automatically; for list fields, the options are shown — letting you move through quickly.
- Once you've filled in every field, one record is saved in the app.
View History & Export CSV
- Open "History" to see a list of everything you've recorded so far.
- Check the box next to any records you no longer need and delete them.
- Once you have the data you want to export, tap the "Export CSV" button.
- A CSV file is created using your configured file name and saved to a folder on your device, or a share menu will open.
